This year, Katherine and her partner, Robert, are coming to California for Christmas and Robert doesn't have a Christmas stocking. So I am making one for him. I do much more knitting than crocheting, so I had to get help to get started. Now I have the hang of it and am having fun!
After I took the photograph pictured above, I noticed a glaring error in the middle of the stocking. You can probably see the error if you click on the photo to see it up close. It was impossible to ignore, so I ripped out to that point and corrected my error. It's actually a lot easier to rip out crocheting than knitting! The yarn is a microfiber with rich chocolate color and nice stitch definition. The stocking design has interesting texture patterns.

I would love to find the directions for these reindeer stockings. I made them in the early 80's for my 3 kids now I want to make them for my grandchildren. Any hope of getting the directions??

Hi Debra, I realize it has been some years since you posted this and I am uncertain if you are still active... however, I have been looking for this pattern for years. It is very sentimental to me; my great grandmother made them for my brother and I with our names sewed in when we were still children. We have each kept them and put them up for Christmas every year. I hoped to make matching versions for my brother's children but I was never successful in finding the pattern and I haven't been successful in attempting to recreate it myself. Hi - 12-6-16 -- I made at least a dozen (maybe 2, sold at bazaars) of these in the 1980's and two of my 5 grown children still use theirs.
